Biodiversity: a first farmer makes a real environmental commitment
This is the first time in France that a real environmental commitment has been signed with a private owner, the Conservatoire d’espaces naturels Normandie-Ouest proudly announces. The David family, farmers in the Pays d’Auge of the Orne, have been using their 20-hectare estate for 50 years for a biodiversity conservation programme: conservation of hedges and ponds, no use of pesticides, no mowing and grazing on a limestone hill where the frog Orchis, a very rare orchid species, grows.
