How to produce enough food in balance with our ecosystems?

Our open space has been under pressure for some time. How can food production and the preservation of biodiversity go hand in hand in densely populated regions such as Flanders? This is an important social but also scientific debate. Separate agriculture and nature or just woven into our landscape? And what type of agriculture? Are these the right questions? Should we limit the debate to agriculture and nature or should we not map out all ecosystem services? In this forum article, the authors look at the issue from a broad social perspective.
