PEKES: Seminar on “Pandemic: to see it as an opportunity”

Training seminar on “Pandemic: to see it as an opportunity” for Secondary Education teachers of the country is organized on Wednesday 07/04/2021, from 18:30 to 21:00 pm, in collaboration with nine Environmental Education Centers (KPE) , nine Regional Centers for Educational Planning (PEKES) and fifteen Heads of Environmental Education, Health Education and School Activities of the Secondary Education Directorates of the country.

The program will be implemented simultaneously from a distance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the digital Webex meeting platform of the Ministry of Education and simultaneous transmission from Youtube, to the address HERE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8LN9003f9M).

The program will be attended by 1,400 registered teachers and all those who expressed interest in participating without application and all those who wish, as through YouTube will be given the opportunity for an unlimited number of participants.

The aim of the event is to present to the educational community a set of educational activities (Environmental Education – Health Education program) on the subject of the pandemic, useful in the current phase, on the other hand to highlight the value of collaborative learning and pedagogical use of ICT in educational act.

The program that will be presented, entitled “Pandemic: to see it as an opportunity”, utilizes modern learning environments that promote collaborative and exploratory learning as well as educational tools (software and distance learning platforms) that utilize ICT. It was designed by KPE Messolonghi, has been approved by the Ministry of Education and can be implemented both in the classroom and with the method of distance education (modern or asynchronous).

he goals of the event also include the emergence of the issue of emerging diseases, the presentation of useful digital tools in teaching as well as the creation and presentation of a collaborative digital repository on pandemics and education around this issue, which could be a useful tool for the educational community, while it could also be the basis for the creation of a co-thematic National Thematic Network of Environmental Education / Sustainability Education.

The training program is organized by KPE Messolonghi and PEKES of Western Greece in collaboration with PEKES: 1st Attica, 6th Attica, 2nd North Aegean, Thessaly, 3rd Central Macedonia, Crete, Peloponnese, Central Greece, Kopeio E: Vertiskou, Ierapetra-Neapolis, Kalamata, Corfu, Pramanta, Sikyonia, Filippi and the Heads of School Activities and Environmental Education of the Directorates of Secondary Education: Evia, Athens, Etoloakarnania, Anatolia, Thessaloniki , Ioannina, Kefallinia, Magnesia, Pieria and Rethymnon.

It is implemented in the framework of the Operation “Environmental Education Centers (KPE) – Environmental Education (Second cycle)”, which is implemented through the Operational Program “Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning” with the co-financing of Greece and the European Union.
