Future chefs learn urban agriculture

Akmerkez started “Urban Agriculture” courses for 12 weeks for the students of Istanbul Bilgi University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department. Akmerkez, which has arranged an area of 750 m2 for sustainable agriculture within the project “Agriculture on the Terrace”, which is continuing since 2017, brings together the students of Bilgi University (Istanbul) Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department with the soil. In a written statement by the company providing information about the program, “Urban Agriculture” elective courses that will last 12 weeks will take place online with both applied and theoretical parts. In the course, which started on Friday, 5 March 2021, the importance of urban agriculture, how it started, and its relationship with gastronomy are being explained.
